The Chester Duck Race is a fun yearly event on the River Dee where decorated rubber ducks race to raise money for the Countess Charity and Countess of Chester Hospital.
Each year, participants unleash their artistic talents to transform ordinary rubber ducks into magnificent floating masterpieces, competing not just in speed but in style. From superhero-themed ducks to miniature replicas of local landmarks, the imagination on display adds a layer of visual splendor to this free family-friendly event.
The race does more than just entertain—it serves a vital purpose by raising essential funds for The Countess Charity and the Countess of Chester Hospital. These contributions directly impact patient care, medical equipment acquisition, and healthcare innovations that benefit the entire Chester community.
The event creates a festival atmosphere along the riverbanks, with cheering crowds tracking their favorite ducks as they bob and weave their way downstream. Local businesses, schools, and community groups all participate, strengthening the bonds that make Chester such a special place to live.
Innov8 Digital Media was proud to serve as the official videographers for this year's Chester Duck Race and had an awesome time filming the day's events.
A big thank you to James McClean for supplying drone footage and a big thank you to the Countess Charity for having us be part of the event.
